Death slide
My heart skipped a beat while walking up the hill to the ‘death slide’. My muscles tensed as I pushed my hardest to get to the top, I was determined to be the first girl to go down it. I took off, all the muscles in my body spring into action I made it to the top. I was puffed but at the same time very excited that I had made it to the top first.
My toes were touching the the start of the slide my stomach felt like it had been turned upside down. but i was still not giving up being first. I sat down, I gave myself a little push and I was off. I skidded down the slide, went side to side and up and down.. While I was WHIZZING down the slide I thought this was worth the climb. I realized that I have the worst part to come I had to brace myself for the cold muddy pool at the bottom. Now I was starting to worry what it will feel like. finally I reached the bottom I flew through the air and landed in a muddy pool of water!!
As I stood up I realized I forgot to close my mouth when I was going down the slide, so I had muddy yuck water in my mouth. I spat it out and moved on. but i still had the slightest taste of mud in my mouth I learnt from that to always close my mouth going down the slide! That was one of my favorite activity's at camp. I went down many more times and after that you could have imagined that most people's backsides hurt after that day at camp!
