Btw the 'special' paper was 'Universal Indicator Paper' which is used to measure the acidity or alkalinity (base) of a liquid on a scale of 1 (acid) to 14 (basic or alkaline). The paper's colour, when dipped into the liquid, corresponds to numbers on the Universal Indicator chart.
